It's funny how many guitars you can give away when you get them for free!

I think they pay for it in the one or other way only BP knows ;)

Eddie gave a lot of guitars away. This is legit but it was a back up. Eddie didnt pay for guitars or dinner.

Thanks for clearing this up.
I think I saw this guitar in munich where they played in 1993, beginning of the europe tour and my first VH concert. I was expecting to see my guitar hero for the first time and on the first note of poundcake on the tour start he snapped the low e-string. He laughed for the wole song through, was a great moment :D

The same guy who is selling Eddie's Trans Black EVH is also selling Eddies maple Kramer neck off his Frankenstrat guitar. This is the one seen in the "Jump" video. I bet you could buy half a house with the price of both these. Still, you would get more satisfaction from owning these as opposed to half a house!!

...yeah that's just what I want, used over priced instruments LOL.
I figure if a touring "pro" used an instrument it's been put through it's paces. Kinda like buying a used race car from a pro driver or something.
I'd rather have new. My $0.02

I see that those guitars were gifts from Ed. Shame people will sell them at such an inflated price just to make a buck. I have a very special gift that will go to the grave with me from a certain someone who shall remain nameless...;)

To each his/her own I guess....whatever.

Hey, if Eddie gave me a Peavey guitar, I'd sell it, too.

Honestly, I don't think I would. If it was a gift, I would keep it. The point being, it is not the brand, just the thought of something like that being given to you by a well known musician. Then to sell it using the musician's name as a selling point (which is very very common) is bad form.

Now, mind you, I would never play it. I do have my sense of loyalty with EBMM as it is the best company (my opinion) and has a SUPERIOR product.

I stick to my guns here, Koogs. I think I was too "progressive" when Van Halen was first huge, and I was never much into the c*ck-rock thing anyway - or riff-rock or whatever the correct term is. In those days, if Frank Zappa thought it was ridiculous, I probably did, too.

So the whole EVH fanboy thing - well, first, I'm a bassist, so that really answers the 'why not'.

But this is not to say that I don't value certain basses that were given to me. Indeed I do! But those came from a friend, someone I trust and value and care about.

And they weren't Peaveys!

I respect your opinion bro...you know that.

Big Hugs from Koogs to Jack!

We can continue this next time we are together over some beers (me) and martinis (you)...fair? ;)

Just a sec on the Peaveys there bud
I own both Wolfgangs and Axis and love them equally.
Similar but different and the Peavey has great quality as well
