I have an EVH EBMM that I bought new back in '92. Over the last 20 years, the guitar was my main recording and gigging axe. It also is pretty beat and I've been trying to clean it up a little.

The gotoh Floyd has lost some of the chrome playing from sweat over the years...mainly on the saddles. When I disassembled it to clean the parts, something must have happened because I cannot get the tremolo bar back on correctly. The 2 piece that hold it in place don't connect. I'm assuming that they should thread into each other but it's not possible for some reason. The bottom piece, that goes under the bridge and is accessed from under the guitar, has a nut and washer at the top but there's nothing else above the washer to go through the hole. Am I correct that something should be there for the top piece to screw onto? I have a feeling I need new pieces but have no idea where to obtain these. The top piece with the small Allen wrench hole to tighten or loosen the bar has no way of staying flush with the bridge...it rotates when it's not supposed to because, as I said, it has nothing to mount it to the bridge. Someone seems to be missing.

About a year ago I contacted EBMM about purchasing a new gotoh but was told I would have to send them the original in order to do that. I do not want to give up the original as I paid for it, own it and want the guitar's original parts. Anyone else experience this?

If anyone could point me in the right direction for parts, that would be greatly appreciated.
