Here are some pics of the Big Al 5 SSS Candy Apple Red showing off some pretty sparkles, and my camera is still crap cause it still doesn't render those sparlkles as good as to the naked eye.

Beautiful color, I do agree! My wife's response when she saw my CAR classic was that this was her color and her bass! :D

Great shots!

Since I own a candy red Big Al 5 single H, I can honestly say that your pics represent that color quite well. Good job!

As a relative newbie to EBMM basses, I think they have the best looking finishes, especially their sparkle and burst finishes, of any manufacturer out there. This one is gorgeous even in the pictures.

I tried a Big Al 4 SSS/maple at Guitar Center.

The Big Al SSS is a very versatile bass and it provides a series of unique sounds but it's not so different as to being unidentifiable with the MusicMan sound we know and love. Different yet similar. Edgier.

The selection of pickups in conjunction with the active 4-band EQ plus the active/passive option adds up to this being the only bass you'll need for anything. Swiss Army Knife for sure!

I really enjoyed changing pickup selections and then using the 4-band EQ.

Mrs.sitonmybass was impressed with how quickly I was able to go to a jazz tone from the other previous tones that I had dialed up.

I LIKE THE SINGLE COILS!

Is there a difference between "Candy Apple Red" and "Candy Red"?

SBMM's red is called "Candy Apple Red."

EBMM's red is called "Candy Red."

Not sure if they're actually different colors.
