I'm sure this guitar has some sort of cool story behind it. I just saw a pic of it posted on sevenstring.org with more than enough speculation on it.
Anyone got any ideas?

This is a custom guitar made for Chris Howorth of In this Moment....The Band was playing our stage all summer and both Chris and Blake selected the Petrucci's model. This guitar features EMG 707 pickups and a simplified volume/switching system...hardtail bridge ect ect...

Both guys loved the guitars and enjoyed using them this summer...

Here is Blake on his JP7 Bahama Blue on the EB stage....

I would think JP is flattered and honored that some young dudes want to play his guitar, look up to him, etc. I'm sure they're probably really happy to play JP's guitar. I sure am. So, why wouldn't the JP signature be there?

I'm checking out their MySpace. They seem pretty cool. iTunes download imminent.

That song gets a ton of airplay here in Hartford. The studio version isn't as vocally aggressive as the live version, and the band does a great job covering it.

Didn't know they were EBMM players, thanks for posting that pic!

Well the signature for sure should always be there, but im not gonna lie it would be cool to get to the point where I could have my initials on the 1st fret, or the shield not be there at all...but actualy at that point if EBMM is allowing me to mod a signature guitar thats the last of my worries..chambered body, blackburst w/black hardware, and ALL ebony neck w/ no inlays \m/
