OK, I have been playing my Bongo's alot lately. (a 4HH and 5HH) Got them strung with flats and they sound awsome......

SO, I decided to pull out the old SR4 with rounds and try it out for the same gigs for a week or so. Holy Cow!! It sounded great at the blues gig, but realy shined at the Blues Vultures gig this past saturday.

I think the Bongos may get a break while I work the old Stingray back into rotation (Sorry 'bout the t-shirt)

Great pics!

Is that some slapping I see in the second pic - in a blues band? :)

Also, which SWR cab are you using there - is it a Triad - and what are you driving it with, to compete with the Marshalls?

Thanks, the wifey has been getting alot of practice with the new Rebel SLR

Slapping just for a vamp section.... It seemed to work ;)

Cabinet is one of my old Goliath II's (Horn disconnected) driven by a LMKII
It did a great job against the guitar amps
And direct to the PA sounded really good out front

Cheers...

I'm in the same boat (sort of). My SR4 was the first "real" bass I ever bought and I'll never part with it. But I haven't used it in a while. I recently took it out of it's case and man, I forgot how great it sounds. It has this unique ability to sound so amazingly clean and then let the growl out on command.
