I'm trying to find the factory-recommended snake oil-ish products for the neck of my new-used Albert Lee...but I cannot find this "Tru-Wax" which is spoken of in the FAQ.

What gives? Has this product been discontinued?

There is a "gunstock wax" on the Birchwood Casey site (and I saw it at the local Dick's) but it's not pure wax...it's got silicone in it.

Knowing that it's pretty much impossible to remove silicone contamination once it occurs, I hesitate to use this in case it's the wrong thing.

Is this the same stuff? Or should I just go buy a can of good old Carnauba wax and use that?

Strange you should post this today. I just ordered Tru-Oil and plain old Wax from B-C a few hours ago because I couldn't find Tru-Wax either.

I anxiously await a response, too.

You got the right stuff.. it's not called Tru-Wax, just Gunstock Wax. I don't know if they changed the name or if it's been Gunstock Wax all along. Either way, that's the stuff! It works wonders! Be sure to put tape over your pickup covers and hit the back of the neck with 0000 Steel wool before applying the oil & wax. You get much better results when you get the old residue off in this manner.
