Fatal tragedy occured again!;/

I had a problem with these saddles and two were replaced thanks to great Ernie Ball Customer Service but it happened again :/.
Can this small piece be glued back?
If no how much is to get replacement??

I bought vice And will be experimenting with glueing it back... To send it from America will take 2 weeks.
I got two more of these broken earlier on same R polarity.

Does anyone know if quick bonding glue will work?

Had the same issue. First round of quick bond glue lasted 3 string changes. I cleaned it up a bit better second go, and it's lasted about a year. The agent in HK was most unhelpful for a replacement, so had to improvise.

Theyre on it I should actually have response tomorrow. I also spoke to EB directly but later I've realised that we've got local UK service and abandoned shipping from USA as it will take ages to arrive.

What kind of glue did you used ? have you noticed any tone change? I think that it needs to be a glue that will bond metal tip and the crystal quite strong together so the resonance from the string is transferred to the pole with the lowest "losenes" between those two if that makes any sense.

I used super glue or Cyanoacrylate. I'm sure there are other glue types that might be better. It's on a non piezo jp6 so don't know if it will affect the piezo. There has been no change to tone or functionality. As mentioned, I gave it a really good clean as there was a bit of rust on the under side of the loose piece. I used a very small amount as the glue lacks viscosity and goes everywhere if too much is applied. I'd recommend using a plastic toothpick or other similar object to keep control of the glue and apply it to the loose piece, then with care apply the piece back onto the saddle. Good luck

I'm guessing that the glue doesn't have to be "conductive"? Look forward to hearing how this problem is resolved?

Thank you for instructions. Unfortunately my one is piezo so I think that two pieces need to be very close with really strong bond so all the energy from string is passed to the crystal hence it needs to be clean. I wish EB would sell a hack for that but that would mean that they would lose spare parts sale.

Spud I'll certainly will let yous know the outcome btw I can't get that part until I get it shipped to the shop which Is a bit far away so need to try alternatives.

Now I need to figure out how to clean it :/

Ok guys,

I have fixed it using above mentioned method with super glue but we shall see how long that will last... Ideally I'd get the replacement but as long as it sounds the same I can't be bothered (my household budget is quite tight at the moment).

Thanks for the input and clues as it really helped and gave the idea how to approach this task.

Fingers crossed the super glue holds & all works OK.

How did you clean it in the end ?

I just had a different issue but also wanted to clean the metal surface as best I could before gluing so I used the cleaner liquid & then the purifier liquid with cotton buds to clean the surface. This is the stuff you use when you clean/prepare the CPU polished surfaces for new heat sink compound etc. Seemed to work pretty well for me & the two small bottles are readily available and cheap. Also, enough to last a good while. Like any liquid do the job quickly, clean & dry so if there are any corrosive elements within the liquid it does not have time to erode/tarnish any surfaces etc.
Anyone else tried this & got any issues with this type of cleaner method ?

I've used some of the nail stuff as the electric file etc. that belongs to my GF hehe you need to be creative when you're hit by need and we shall see how long that will last and then used wood stick to give it just a tad of glue.
I used vice and laid 9V battery on it for an hour and Voila all works so far.

Well they are helpful but as my warranty passed many years ago all thy could do was to offer to buy new part from them but that was meaning that I'd have to wait for it at least 2 weeks and would probably be hit with duty etc. or buy it in UK from Strings and Things but there is one problem they can't send them direct to you it needs to be via shop hence I abandoned all these Ideas and decided to fix the part myself.

Good to see it worked out. Has it affected the piezo? It's all voodoo to me, so don't know how the piezo works.

Not at all.... Well I don't hear the difference or volume drop etc.

Piezo simply converts mechanical energy to electrical in this particular example. Google it to know more mate.
