Hi

I have a 1991 Silhouette with a terrible feedback problem, when the switch is not at the 1st or last position.

I have written about this problem here before, but I got confused since I was advised to replace all the pickups.

Now, after some mileage with this problem, I think I can describe it better.

The problem is a feedback situation:
Speakers ==> Pick Guard ==> middle pickup (single).

Now - I wonder which is the problematic part:
1. The pickup being micro-phonic
OR
2. The pickup NOT being isolated from the pick guard.

thanks

Ok.

Amicrophonic pickup would more often squeal in high frequencies, if that´s the case....

A common feedback can be in every frequency range. There are often problems with F**** standard strats which have a pool routing under the pickguard which is easy for them to manufacture since every Pup combination will fit. But the pickguard tends to be moving and causing feedback problems.

Well this is not(!) the case with a ebmm guitar, but things always can happen. try to put some foam in the Pickup routing to keep everything from rattling and moving and let me know if it got better.

These are the two things I would check. Good luck
