Hey guys,
My band just put together a quick demo. I'm looking for real feedback, so give me honestly. We are kind-of a jam band / rock mix that mostly excels in live shows. I'm not sure I like the recording, so I just want some other opinions... Also, how is the tone on my HH? Any feedback would be appreciated!

Thanks, - Jeff

Props on good execution on your bass line... the bass cuts thru easily,

that tone sounds alot like my sr5 hh when im using both humbuckers with the bass about halfway and 3/4s on the mid and treble almost all the way up...

Its probably a matter of personal taste... but as far the song goes id have the guitar player maybe crunch his guitar up a bit.

but i like it man...

I like it alot, and have now added you.

Your basslines sound pretty clean, and your guitarist sounds nice. I've always liked that clean sound- not sure why.

I'd suggest you clean up some of the string noise in a studio album, but I like that presence in your demo.

Your basslines and execution are stellar.

Your SR5 sounds very nice. It makes me slightly impatient about the arrival of mine.

The only things I'd like to hear, and this is just opinion, are basslines with a bit more defenition--space between notes is infinitely more valuable than the notes themselves, some simpler grooves, and a few more variations and room for fills.
Like, for instance, Another One Bites the Dust. Great song, lots of good use of space.

I detect Moe. and Phish influence, two of my favorite bands ever, as well as some other stuff. North Mississippi Allstars might be a good band to look up if you don't already know them--they have a dirty sort of blues thing going.

That bass sound really makes it happen, dude. That tone is sexier than Kenny G.

^^all just opinion, of course.^^

I like the bass sound (and wouldn't worry too much about string noise... if it fits your style so what). The basslines are very prominent and well done, also nice interplay with the drums. The clean guitar sound isn't my cup of tea, but it blends well with the bass. IMO, the vocals are the weakest part (but since I'm not a native English speaker I didn't really listen to the lyrics just to the music in general, so I can't judge how well lyrics and vocal expression fit).

The songs sound a lot like jams, and have a tendency to get boring at some points because IMO there are too many repetitions in each part, e.g. you're often repeating a riff or part four times instead of doing it just twice, or even a single time when it occurs again in the song. The riffs in general are interesting, but I miss catchy hooklines and evolving vocal melodies.
