I received my trans gold Axis Sport in March, 2004. It was NOS from a dealer. When the gtr came it far exceeded what I imaged it would be like. What a great instrument!! Great pickups, trem, wood grain etc etc etc. Playability like a 20 year old broken in old friend. I had 2 small problems with some fret buzzing and one small issue w/the factory nut. Nothing that I couldnt live with. I was happy as a pig in slop. What a great gtr for the price. So good that I soon sold my beloved LP Standard as it never saw the light of day again after the Sport showed up.

Recently, I purchased a new piece from another manufacturer that quickly became my number one gtr. Well, I thought long and hard about selling my MM but it was so hard to find the first time that I knew Id regret it. So after many months I took my trusty MM to my local tech. I do most of my own set ups (within reason). Well, after he cut me a new nut and did some minor fret work, and re-set the trem and the action... I am SOOOO happy that I kept this gtr!! I am back in love!! I have a series of gigs upcoming and my Sport will be right there w/me!! Its really amazing what a little TLC and about $80.00 worth of repair work can make. Thank you EB for making a truly great and endearing instrument. And thanks to my tech Billy. You're the best!!

I am now re-thinking my next purchase which is swinging me back to a Supersport non-trem w/piezo. The jury is still out as to whether I would do the HH set up again or the MM90's. Maybe I should start another post on the HH's vs MM90's debate...
