Hi, and welcome to the forums. Just a heads up, this probably isn't the place to request information regarding other manufacturers products, especially these products in particular.

That being said, I don't think you would have much success installing these pickups in the Axis or Axis sport. The dog ears on the pickups are not shaped the same. As far as sound goes, the pickups in these guitars are already top notch. I wouldn't change them.

I agree that the pickups in the EVH/Axis are top drawer, especially for stock pickups. But they're awesome.

From what I've read, and I got a chance to play one of the Fender EVH's, the new EVH pickups are hotter than the EBMM DiMarzios and cooler than the PV Wolfgang pickups.

But I doubt you can really improve on what comes in the Axis. You'd just be making it different.

if i can find a original bridge pickup in the axis or ass. that would be great

I agree with the sentiment above. I played an EVH a few weeks ago and I thought the pups were brighter and hotter than my EBMM Axis and original EVH pups. In the limited floor time I had with it, I would compare the bridge pup in the new EVH to an SD Pearly Gates.

You can search on the issue of what DiMarzio offering is closest, the threads are many here and there's lots of debate. The issue with the Axis is the pup has to be short-legged. Also, the SD pups have a different ear - you can make them fit if you're so inclined. But DiMarzios are drop-in replacements.

Check DiMarzio's FAQ page - their EBMM statement is: Tone Zone/bridge and Air Norton/Neck are the closest pickups to the ones in the Axis.

You can also post a want-to-buy, the pups do come up for sale from time-to-time.

Welcome to the forum and good luck!

LawDaddy is right about the controversy regarding the Tone Zone being like the bridge pickup in Axis/EVH. Whether you like the TZ or not, I don't know how someone could hear that pickup and think it sounds like the Axis pickup. People do though.

DiMarzio has stated time and again that the TZ is their closest stock pickup to what's in the Axis. I just don't hear it.

I personally think a modern style PAF would be much, much closer.

Experiment for yourself and see what you like.

good luck!

I've been reading and doing lots of research and their are many people that says tone zone is not like the stock pups in the axis. I'll try to wait it out and look for some stock Ebmm axis or stock Ebmm evh pups

Wish me luck though on finding some.
