In light of SteveB's post, I figured I'd share a few tunes since I didn't play at the OH either (mostly because I know no covers; I've only done originals for about the last 15 years).

I posted to rough mixes of songs my current band is working on, you can get the MP3's on the 'Media' page from our site: www.13muses.com

Check it out and let me know what you guys think! :)

Hey thanks! Yep, my primary guitars (and the only ones you'll hear on anything with this band) are JP7's. I currently have two; a PRB and a CBP (though Jon has the CBP to check out an issue with the nut).

We're pretty happy with how it came out for self-recording it. It's all flat to track, no post-processing at all on the guitars. I did all my effects in real-time (I use continuous controllers).

I good buddy of mine is going to mix and master it for us in the next two weeks, I'm pretty psyched about it! :)

Jeffrey,

Good job!

I'm diggin' the "No Halo" tune especially.

Thanks! Most of our stuff is definately of the heavier genre, those are two of (if not the two most) mellow songs. :)

I have one other one with a solo in it I can post as well if anyone's interested. It's more of a fast thing that I doubled (one track left, one track right). :)

yeah your chops are great especially on No Halo. The same as Kent I'd like to know what is the gear that you are using besides the JP's,

Jeffrey,

Just listened to the 3rd song (Mindset). Nice fretwork! The whole tune is really tight, and the solo was very clean.

Your band plays the same sort of genre as my good friend's band, Skell .

Thanks for the comments! :)

My signal chain is pretty straightforward, I do have effects but only becase I got interested in Continuous Control of effects; it's pretty fun stuff once you get immersed in it. :)

My signal path is this basically:

EBMM JP7 -> Monster Cable -> Bad Horsie 1 (2 sounds like crap) -> Little Alligator Volume Pedal -> Monster Cable -> to Amp

Rack Setup:

Head: Rivera TBR-1SL, stereo 60w rackmount, all-tube head

(mono is '->', stereo is '=>')

Signal Path: effects out of Rivera -> Korg DTR2 Tuner -> TC Electronics G-Force => TC Electronics M-One => stereo back into Rivera => L/R out to Mesa Recto Traditional 4x12 straight-front cabinets.

The mic I used is a Sure KMS32SL condensor.

The sound I got there is unedited. No EQ'ing, no compression, no nothing. I try to get as close as possible to what I want when I track it. I like how it came out, so I left it alone. :)

All of my tracks are doubled; one left, one right, including most of my solos. :)

Thanks for sharing your setup info.
However, I don't really know what continious control of effects means.
Neither do I know any of your effects but they seems cool obviously
;)

It's pretty simple in concept, but semi-complicated to implement.

Basically what it means is this:

Say I want delay in some parts of a song, or a section, but I don't want it to just chop in and out, I want to be able to fade it in and out (like when you record and you add delay afterwards). Some effects units allow you to do this with a variable-resistance potentiameter (volume pedal basically; yes I use EB's :)).

So in all of my songs, any effects you hear were brought up by me while I played the part with one of my continuous controllers (volume pedals) while playing the song, then brought back out as I wanted.

It's nice, it gives you real-time control of effects. Really opens a lot of doors. :)

Aha, that seems like a good way.
I don't know yet if my Tonelab SE can do that (bought it recently) but I wouldn't be surprised if it can.
It's a nice little gadget but needs sime time to learn.

I'm not familiar with the Tonelab, but I'll check into it and see what it's CC capabilities are. :)

FYI: I set up streaming audio for our 7-song demo last night (if you are interested). :)

Click the link in my signature, go to 'Media' and click the 'Media Player' link from there. :)
