I've got some bitter-sweet news on this bass. Bitter for me, sweet for someone, hopefully a forumite. Before the bass had shipped from SLO, we had a death in the family on my wife's side, and needed to buy 4 last minute flights to Canada ...almost $3000. So I had to cancel the deal. I've never had to do that, and I certainly would not have chosen to do it with this very special one-off BPL bass that I flew to LA to get. But that's life. Thanks to zombi and EBMM for working with me on it, and sorry for the hassle/wasted motion.

I still plan to have one, but I'm going to have to wait until they're available after NAMM to order one, after I've recovered a little, financially. Now somebody synch up with zombi about buying this baby.

Commiserations on both the family loss first and secondly on the bass loss, but you know this forum is resourceful, I am sure a 2nd chance will turn up for you.

Robert, I am truly sorry for your loss. I am sure you will get another one of similar quality after NAMM. There will always be other basses, but family comes first.

Sorry for your loss...the family member....not the bass.

I'm sure you'll have another chance at one.

Where at in Denver....My Sis lives in Centennial?

Guys, my wife sends a heart-felt thank you for your condolences. I thank you too, but this was a family member that she was extremely close to & hadn't seen in years, though I had not yet had a chance to meet, so this has been particularly rough on her.

As for the bass, of course it was disappointing, but it's just one of those situations. Having to wait a few months to put in an order for one of these is not the end of the world, and neither is the fact that it might not end up being quite the rarity that this particular one could end up being. That part's cool & all, but it's far less than a tragedy.

Thanks again.

RaginRog: We're in Broomfield, and oh yes, it's as exciting as it sounds ... in the burbs, kinda half-way between Denver and Boulder. I haven't checked out Centennial, does your sister like it there?

I feel for you on this. I think we explored all the avenues possible. I wish your family the best. Like I said before, when the production models drop, hit me up and I will take care of you. It was really awesome meeting you Robert, and I wish you luck!
