Just got off the phone with my buddy at guitar center. Turns out...THEY STILL HAVE THE BLACK LUKE THAT GOT ME HOOKED ON LUKES FROM A WHILE AGO. Sorry for the caps, but I am excited. I am going in there on wed to put a down payment on the thing and I will be picking it up towards the end of june after my honeymoon. I am very excited. I have not bought a new guitar in many years and this Luke was a real piece of work.

Now I just need to figure out my amp situation and I am all set.. Can I post something about amps here?

Oh yes, I will be posting the obligatory guitar porn when I get it, but again it will not be for a while.

Bless,

"I wish this honeymoon would be over already so I can get the Luke!"

Sounds like an exciting June for you. Many amp discussions appear here now and then. Everyone has a story. Lots of guys have found their sound, some still looking for it by experimenting.

The Luke seems to sound great with pretty much any amp BTW. One of the huge plusses about it.

Congrats on the Luke! Amps...do a search cause this was covered in a thread not too long ago. You will get a variety of different suggestions as many peeps here play through different rigs......best thing to do, take your Luke and test drive all of the amps at Guitar Center or where ever and pick the one you like best.

Scott.

Unless you're married to someone named Luke

Sorry dudes.. dont swing that way lol..

Seriously though, her name is Joy. We are going on the honeymoon for two weeks. I may do some amp shopping while I am down there (phoenix suburbs) but I think I am going to be so "busy" that I will not have time to do anything else.. at least I hope I will be that busy

If you don't visit SEDONA (2 hours north of phx) you'll be making a huge mistake. One of the most inspiring places in the west (which has many).

Also, great hiking mountain biking and lots of other things.

Update... I went to GC and put some money down on the axe... it is officially mine!! I took some crappy cell phone quality pics to keep myself entertained until I can pick it up in a month. I played it for a while through a dual rec and I must say it felt like a part of me.. Everything just sort of sunk into place ya know?

Yeah - 'course you can talk about amps.
Koogie's suggestion is a good one.
What you looking for - a bedroom amp? no I take that back, yer getting married:D

or an amp that will do "the biz" at gigs?

Unless you have a roadie - go for a good combo -Marshall, Mesa, Rivera, Fender etc

or for a house, the Vox valvetronics are awesome amps and so are the small Roland cubes.

I have a Marshall combo and a Pod that makes the Marshall more versatile and brings it "up to date".

Some guys on the forum swear by (at!) the Line 6 gear, but others will say that tube amps are de rigeur. So I guess I have the best of both worlds.

Hope you get to love that axe.
