Off Topic Finally got a Lonestar for my jp

Hey phazer,congrats on the lonestar.im looking into getting a mesa boogie next year too.i was looking at the roadking series 2 as its a very diverse amp with a huge arsenal of tones.anybody here own a roadking series 2?there very expensive in europe is the only pitfall.

its tough in my country too,to try out different gear as the shops dont have a good variety of equipment in stock.look up the xotic fx website and theyll tell you all the dealers in europe.

you're right, they are very expensive here in europe, I payed 1400€ for the lonestar head, and it was a bargin!
 
ok, so not even 1 month has gone by, and I'm already getting a new gas attack.
I've been using the lone star the whole time, and even though I really like the clean tones, the distortion is really too muddy when put at high gain.
and since I've been asked to join a progressive metal band, that has already got 2 albums and are going on tour in a short while, I decided that the lonestar must go.

I've found a guy that was selling his dual rectifier 3ch, in mint condition, for 1700€, so I contacted him and told me he was selling it to buy a lone star, I giggled, and told him the whole story, so we are meeting up next sunday so that I can tryout his dual rectifier and he can try my lonestar, and if I like the tone that I get, we'll do the swap.

So, what do you guys think?
apart from me being very luky to find someone that actually lives near here and has a dual that he want's to swap with the lone star?
 
first you don like it now you do. sell the lonestar and get a roadster or roadking. 4 channels but the important part is that the first two are from the lonestar and the second two are rec.

I started doing fusion lately, that's why I didn't get a rectifier, but since now the things have changed, I can't really go and play metal with the lonestar, so I'll have to try the rectifier.

I like the roadster, but it's really hard to find them here
 
the roadster does seem really nice, but I think a dual rectifier will do just fine...I hope
 
the roadster or rk would probably be the only recs i own just because the clean is awesome. as far as dirty tones are concerned the mkiv and jp is an amazing combo. id take it over a rec 9 times out of 10
 
im not a fan of the recs. not tight enough for me. i havent played a dual in forever but the roadster is okay. sometimes i really like it but it has that loose bottom end and just doesnt feel right to me. it works but to me the rec is suited for blues and rock and the mark series is more like a jazz and metal amp (even though the gain from a rec is more than enough its voicing just more open)
