Finally!!! I've been trying to buy a EBMM Axis online from 3 different Guitar Centers since Saturday. First time the GC guy at my store entered my billing address incorrectly so the sale didn't go through. I called the GC who had the guitar and they they tried to sell it to me a second time. After I explained that I already bought it and I had the receipts to prove it he said that the neck shrunk and the frets felt rough. So I canceled the order. The second try was a black one that I entered the info in myself and the order went through. I got an email from GC yesterday saying that they couldn't find all of the parts and did I still want the guitar. No, so I canceled that one. My third attempt was this morning everything seamed to go great, until I got an email around 11:00 saying they canceled the order because it was already sold. They did however apologize for my inconvenience... Finally The one Axis that I didn't mention yet was one that I was trying to buy for the last 3 days, but could not find it on the stores web site to purchase it. I could see it, but no option to buy. I finally decided to call the store and it was still for sale!!! Finally, I got one. She's a beautiful natural finish flame top with case. And the sales man took off the shipping for my trouble. I'll post the pictures once I get it.

It must be said that despite GC having a huge used inventory, the online buying process is pretty poor. The pictures are tiny and not detailed, and they never give an accurate description.

I am glad you got the Axis though, its quite the Axe!

I am a little nervous because I have to call GC tomorrow to get a tracking number. Can't wait for it to get here though and see how it plays. Once it's here I'll look into setting it up to EB specs, and give it a nice new home on my wall next to my Peavey Wolfgang Standard. I love guitars. I play them, build them and repair them so I'll try to be an asset to this forum.

Thanks.

That's no moon.... That's a space station!

May the force be with you on the remainder of your saga. If this one falls through, PM me. I know where you can find the droids you are looking for.

LOL!!! I had 7 guitars, 2 got traded for the Axis via the GC. That's why I was going through GC. I wanted an Axis, but I wasn't allowed to spend too much money. I asked my wife what what too much was because, I still don't think that she told me so she will be surprised Monday when the Axis shows up;-) I agree Tim, they should try to do a better job taking pics, and better descriptions. But, that would take time, and effort.

Yeah that's a nice one. I saw that one on their site as well. Congrats!!! I know what you're wait is like as my Reflex was transferred from an LA-area GC to the one here in Chicagoland near where I work. It was well worth the wait as I'm sure your Axis will be too. I'd recommend getting some EBMM Wonder Wipes and go to town on the neck and fretboard. Made mine spotless.

Beautiful flame on that bad boy.

I see you have marriage figured out: it's easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission.

Thanks. I will be able to pick it up tomorrow morning form UPS. I'm pretty stoked about it. Tomorrow my wife leaves for the windy city for a few days, and I think that I'm feeling a little bit of the Monday morning flue;-)

Awesome Axis! Those natural tops age wonderfully too...mine is a 2006 and is much richer looking than when it was brand new.

Picked her up this morning from my local UPS location, and she looks better than I could have hoped for. Who ever had it took excellent care of it. The natural flame top is so nice the damn thing looks fake... I cleaned the neck and finger board with Birchwood Casey Tru-Oil, then used 000 steel wool soften the feel and polish the frets. Then rubbed 2 very light coats of Birchwood Casey Gun Stock Wax, and rubbed it out after about 5 minuets. Wiped the entire thing down with a micro-fiber cloth, checked all hardware for tightness and put on a new set of super slinky 9's. Absolutely the best guitar that I own. Now, what is up with the whammy bar, it just sits in the hole with no way to keep in in there? Seems silly with the overall guitars quality.

That's funny. I'll post some pics tonight. I want to see how the tremolo arm is to used properly. Maybe i'll swap it for a new screw in version.
