Love it!
Makes me all the more impatient for my Bongo6. If I had only ordered it in '08, I would have had her in my hands this week. As it stands, I ordered it last fall.

Thats one serious bass. Wow.

Question...do you need hands the size of Shaq O'Neill to play a 6 stringer?

The neck is quite a beast and I have medium sized hands but I had no problem playing the Bongo 6. I could easily reach all 24 fret on all 6 strings.

No actually, I consider my hands to be a bit on the small side and yet I seem to be able to play everywhere quite easily. The only spot I have trouble with is just spreading across the first 4 frets on the lowest string (eg. A Nightmare to Remember by Dream Theater for pure example). But thats a stretch for anyone I'm sure.

It sounds absolutely stunning and a joy to play.

Wonderful 6 banger, congrats! ;)

What genre of music You play to need 6 strings bass? Jazz, fusion, jazz-rock?

Um, no I was originally just gunna get a 5 string, but I though while I'm spending the money I might as well get the 6 string just for the added playability. I like to try and play a lot of things. But really it's mostly for metal, think Dream Theater or Symphony X.
Edit: When I talk about metal, I'm talking about progressive metal (like Dream Theater and somewhat like Symphony X). I don't like the fact that they are labeled metal sometimes because they also play really beautiful quiet songs that aren't really metalesque. They just have intense lines that aren't boring. Anyway I'll end my shpeel. :p

I wouldn't mind playing some jazz things but I have a lot to learn yet. :p

Also it helps for little solo pieces. All in all it just gives me more options to explore while playing/making music. 6 strings looks like a lot but its a hoot to play.:)

Oh, I see!

That's to brutal music to me, anyway I have live DVD of Dream Theater, I watched it several times and all guys are virtuoso players for sure, but if You can recognize music like I do, You can hear lots of jazz elements in that music! ;)

I wish You a many good tones with this beautiful Bongo 6!

P.S. ...before I switched from 4 strings to 5 banger, I was thinking about 6 string bass too, but unfortunately my hands (fists) are to small for it, but anyway 6 stringers have the best tone of all basses, 'cause more massive wood work and longer'n'stronger pickups! :)

Dream Theater definitely has jazz elements in it, and that is also one of the reasons why Dream Theater is set apart, and a huge step up I might add, from the majority of metal garbage that is out there. Their musicality in general is too. Anyway, I don't want to get started. :p

There's something about a Bongo with 6 strings... It just looks impressive, and Just right! That's a beautiful bass you got there!
