Okay, so I'm a slacker, and I've been meanig to do this for a while. These are really just some scratch tracks for something I'm working on that I did to test some settings.
This is my fretless Bongo set up with TI Superalloys through my Fishman Pro Bass II into my GK1001RB. The Fishman is bypassed to the GK, and it's only being used to buffer the piezos before they are fed to the GK. However, both the Fishman and GK are XLR'd to my Tascam digital 8 track. Got that? The Fishman is set to a high level of optical compression to really squash the signal, and the GK has the drive set pretty high with the lows cut a bit. I'm pretty pleased with the tone I get considering it's all solid state. Each DI is being fed to its own track.
Sample 1 is the neck pickup soloed with some piezo thrown in, and the high and low mids bumped to about 70%, treble flat, and bass at about 60%. This is the tone that's closest to my main sound I like from the Bongo live.

Sample 2 is bridge pickup soloed with a little bit of piezos added, high mids at just above flat, low mids at 80%, treble cut a smidge, and bass boosted to about 70%. I'm also playing with my thumb and palm muting.

Sample 3 is piezos only, high and low mids bumped, treble flat, and a slight bass boost.

Now, this goofy thing is all three takes together. It's amazing how well you can get multiple bass tracks to sit together when you can highlight different tones. You'd think it'd get pretty muddy, but I am fairly pleased with the way they interact. This is just me goofing off (ignore the time issues) but you can certainly hear some of the different tones available from the Bongo.

Anyway, I would have gotten more done, but I ended up watching Freddy Vs Jason and having ice cream with my girlfriend. Man cannot live by Bongo alone.
