Finally! SR5 Feeling Natural!

It finally happened Saturday night. My new SR5 finally felt totally natural, like an extension of myself. I've been practicing with it daily (so much so that my 4 stringers are starting to feel, well, kind of small and puny, like something's missing). But the SR5 has still felt a bit awkward. Then we got really rockin' on Saturday night, and I was able to just drop in those low D and C notes, and it felt SO GOOD! I can finally get lower than I ever have before, and I LOVE IT!

I love my Dr. Bass Cabs. Got two single 15" cabs so I could load and carry them at my advanced age and state of decrepitude, plus I'm kind of old school and used 2-15 cabs for many years (Sunn and Fender, both with JBL D-140s). I love that big low end 2-15's give!

Hey shasta, for me all 5 strings have felt weird and unnatural, until I got the SR5 HH. The neck and string spacing are perfect and it feels just like a slightly larger SR4.
No radical change in neck size or shape. It's GREAT! I've started playing it more than my 4banger now.
I even like how huge the body is, it feels sexah.
Not to mention, I march the bass drum in the army band, so for me its not heavy at all!

"Woody & the Termites"....I love it!! Nice bass! I've been kinda wanting to try a 5-string again. I had one about a year ago, but I never got 100% comfortable on it, or at least not as comfortable as I am on a 4-banger.

I love that feeling... when the bass just feels right... you aren't thinking about the feel of the neck, or where to put your hands, fingers... and thats when the music really happens.
