Hehehe.

Took em all out for maintenance today. Strings, Oil, tune. The usual. I posted my amp and in progress pedal config too. Should be fun once I get that all together.

OC, you have to measure your string height for me on all three. Please?

12th fret, high E and low E.

I'd really appreciate it.

They're on the page before the last one. I posted the amp and board afterward. hehehe. So go one back.

Dave,

I'd love to measure but I'm deficient on measuring devices at the present time. I'm not a good indicator becasue I tweak that stuff alot anyway. I can tell you that the DG is damned low thanks to Jon.

JuanGitarrez of this very board and of the EBMM company. I sent the DG back due to some electronics issues (subsequently he replaced the body due to stress cracks too and the trem was making some weird noise). He did a fret levelling and sealed the neck with a treatment of superglue. Essentially what he dos to JP's personal pieces, JP likes low, low action so I could achieve that now. One thn I notice the impossible guitar stuff translates realy well to it.

Did they charge you for the fret-level or was it done on warranty? I want my action low!

Hey OC,
I sent an email to Jon this morning asking about the neck sealing. How would you compare the DG to one of your other JP's that hasn't been sealed? Is it as fast?

I'm probably going to send my Blue Dawn Axis back and let them give it a good workover, I'm changing to 10's and want the action looked over, and am considering having the neck sealed at the same time.

I thinking about having the necks on both of mine sealed because of the humidity problems here in lovely Baltimore. But when I think of a sealed neck I picture a Les Paul with the laquered neck and they are not what I would consider a "fast" neck, at least compared to my Petrucci and Axis.

So what say ye?

thanks,
fred

And hey Dave, I haven't forgotten you... Alright so maybe it slipped my mind. I'll try and remember to measure my Petrucci tonight. Sorry bud...

To be honest it plays great. Like an oil and wax ALL the time. I had a few issues with mine when I sent it back that took some time to correct so Jon was nice enough to set it up. I live on LI so the temp issues are a birch here as well F. Also, I should be able to post some clips soon since i just got my recording setup back in action. Need to get back in the swing of programming and stuff. Clips to follow....

And it stayed that way come to think of it. The PRB is the one that I had to tweak a bit. The MD is close in playability and tone to the DG.

Dave,
I told you I wouldn't forget about you... ;)

At the 12th fret the high and low E are as Jon put it, a "hair" or maybe two under 1/16".

I've had the guitar for about 6 months now. Damn it seems like so long ago that I was going through the pain of waiting for delivery. :) Anyhow, it doesn't seem like the setup has changed much from the day it left the factory.

Hey F....

my MD came from Maryland via Ebay. S'like brand new. And it appears your similar weather didn't get to it either. How close are you to Abingdon?

Jon, 1/32 at the 12th fret?!?!?!?

HOOK ME UP!!! That's 1/2 the height I've got now on the low E and my high e is like 5/64. You'll see when you get it. It went out today.

Wow, 1/32 at the 12th fret!!! I'd never need another guitar.
