I have played slinky's for over 10 years now and love them to death. At one stage I would change them after every second gig and I was playing 3/4 times a week so would get two sets in a week. Then i bought them by the box,but because they were sitting there looking at me I felt bad if I didn't change them every gig !!!!!
I just love the feel of new strings when you dig deep and really start to groove.
I have calmed down now a bit and only change them every 3/4 months now for two reasons
1)
I moved to the west of Ireland and they are nearly impossile to get, there is only one music store and they wont stock them

2)
playing in a wedding band now and like the strings to sound a bit older.

Just put a new set on last week and the A string is buzzing!!!!

Am I complaining ?? not at all I must have bought well over 200 sets of strings in the last 10 years (prob more like 15 years) and this is the first time I have ever had any sort of problem.....ever....

It just made me think how bloody good these strings really are.

So without wanting to sound sad thanks for all the nights I have had with Slinky's and looking forward to all the nights to come with them also.

oh I know if I sent them back to the store in Dublin they would change them for me,but I think that one bad string from over 200 sets is not that bad an average.:D

This doesn't sound like a bad string to me. It sounds as if your neck truss rod may need a slight adjustment. It's natural for necks to change a bit over time. If it doesn't buzz through the amp, a little acoustical buzz doesn't matter. Also, brand new strings are more prone to buzz against a fret more than one that's settled in awhile.

ah cheers dude,Was only buzzing when the string was open plus was only the A string and diddn't come through my amp but it was enough to drive me crazy.
I put a new set on and the buzz is gone,it was a bad string for sure.
