Hey all,
I'm new to the forum. Been wanting a MM for years and finally decided to go for it. I wanted the most versatile MM I could get as I'm hoping to replace my USA Dlx strat, USA Dlx tele, a Les Paul Custom, and a USA Charvel Style 2 (I never used the Floyd anyway). I'm keeping a vintage strat with sentimental value, a PRS baritone, and a unique Ibanez just cuz.
Anyhow, I went for an Axis SS semi hollow with a vibrato, piezo, and maple board. I'm assuming the one I bought (online) was NOS since I don't see those options or the color (quilted red) on the website anymore. What do you all think? Did I make a wise choice?

Wow! What a beauty! You're gonna love the piezo in that thing. I use the piezo all the time on the Maj. Welcome to the family!

Welcome to the forum! The Axis SS Semi-hollow is a great choice and is stunning in Red.

Thanks, guys. I am looking forward to it. I had heavily considered the Cutlass and/or Stingray as my first(s) but after reading some forum posts I settled on the above.

Great guitar! I have a feeling your gonna go for the Cutlass or Stingray you were considering down the road....once you get used to the MM necks everything else feels cluncky...lol

+1 - there's things I like about EBMM, but what I *love* is the oil/wax neck. If that's your preference then you need to get in on the June PDN to get that on a Cutlass or Stingray though...

Welcome. Beautiful machine, and what a way to start an addiction.

PDN= Premiere Dealer Network. Each year EBMM comes up with a special offering (this year is Starry Night, and f'ing gorgeous if you ask me) that only select dealers can sell. They do this for a limited time, usually during summer months (from all the runs I've seen, but I may be wrong).

So will the Axis I bought have the oil/wax neck?
... Nevermind, I see it in the specs now...

Prepare yourself for greatness.

I run the Piezo of my gamechanger through a Taylor IR and it sounds really great through the PA. Honestly sounds better than most real acoustics through the PA. You'll love it.

Wow! Any chance you'd be willing to share the IR (or if it's commercial, tell me where you got it)?

Well I got the guitar a couple weeks ago. Wow! I'm ecstatic. I used it for a live set for the first time this morning and my tone (and playing) has never been better. Played though a Matchless preset on my Helix with piezo and magnetics blended. It was just fantastic. I truly don't plan to need another guitar.
