Hi all,
I was wondering, when did EBMM announce the JP6 signature model for the first time? When did Petrucci start playing the EBMM signature model?
I've tried to google it but could find any relevant results...
Does anyone has photos of the first models/prototypes?

I think it was March 2001 they were introduced officially, but John was playing the prototypes before then. Check out this recent thread: http://www.ernieball.com/forums/mus...ucci-7-ernie-ball-music-man-guys-help-me.html

I saw this thread yesterday. Very cool one, but it the JP7. I think the 7 strings model came after the 6 strings model. Correct me if I'm wrong.
According to what you are saying, Petrucci is playing on EBMM since the
beginning of 2001.
I'm just trying to find the sound differences in Dream Theater albums
and it will be easier for me to find the relevant albums by knowing when
the first models came out.

JP recorded Scenes From A Memory with Ibanez.
Started playing EBMM guitars throughout the SFAM tour.
First studio album with EBMM guitars was Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence.

Mr. Petrucci started playing the first EBMM in late 2000. He played some clinics in October of that year with the Black Fire proto.

One the Scenes DVD he plays at least 3 protos, a Black Sparkle for normal tuning, what looks like a Blue Pearl (I say BP 'cause I've seen Mr. Petrucci holding that proto in an early EBMM add), for dropped-D, and a Pearl Redburst 7.
