I'd like to ask why did your new bass require a professional setup? Mine was perfect out of the box, as per factory settings, so was the Bongo 5 and the 25th, or is it because you use different setups i.e. extra low or high action?

Thanks :)

I think this one was a used instrument....so may have been setup different to the normal EBMM.

I must agree with GW.

My BA4 SSS was perfect right out of the box (store). The factory set up was pretty well dialed in to my ideal. So much so that it convinced me to buy my first EVER bass with a maple fb because it just played so nicely.

From having bought a couple of used basses online I have found that people can have some pretty interesting setup choices, so it's hard to appreciate the instrument until you get it suited to your comfort. I guess it all comes down to preference at the end of the day. Don't know how you could tinker with the factory setup though...

Beauty bass btw- I really like the white with red tort. I'm itching to get a classic in that same scheme...or maybe a roasted neck special...who knows...one thing for sure, GAS is inevitable.
