Good day, this is my first post. I received an Axis Black Cherry Burst many years ago from my partner in music who unfortunately passed. it was a studio piece and mightve been played live twice. Manufactured in 2006, no pick guard, chrome hardware, maple neck and fretboard, matching headstock. I was curious what would be a good but fair deal. not trying to be at top of market and no rush to move it. I would like it to be in the hands of someone who would appreciate and utilize it. its in immaculate condition, still has plastic adhesive protectors on the back. I went to Reverb to see other models, but apparently there are many different variables between models effecting value. (ie, color, neck, style, etc.) I'm just not hip to the details that make an Axis more or less desirable than other models. appreciate the assist!!

I would suggest going back to Reverb and doing some more research. You should be able to find other versions of this guitar with similar specs (bursts with matching headstocks) and in similiar condition. They usually have what they consider "fair market value" which should help. I'd also look around Ebay as well and see what's out there. You can also contact a music shop and ask what they'd sell it for and see if they'd share any information. You can also take the s/n from the back plate and use the s/n lookup tool linked in the sticky posts up above. That will give you the official word on the guitar. You can also contact EBMM customer service. They can provide you more detailed specs. BTW that's a really nice Axis. Good luck!

My last two Axis models that I sold went for around $2400 -- but one was a Blue Dawn (don't see them very often) and the other was a Trans Red (seems to be one of the more popular colors) with a ton of FU-Tone upgrades...so I don't know if that's a good representation.

I guess my strategy with Reverb of late is to start high because (a) people will constantly lowball you and (b) when you drop it 10% or more, it notifies watchers which often sparks a sale. Your mileage, as they say, may vary. :)

For reference, I sold an absolute mint Natural Axis with D-tuna to another forum member about 1.5 years ago for $1700 plus shipping. The guitar could have passed for new/unplayed condition-wise.

Love the Black Cherry Burst, I had an Axis SS in the same finish with nickel pickup covers, very classy.
