So after taking out the LE yesterday for the first time in a while, I noticed a flat spot that I have never noticed before.
Set up was GenzBenz ML 200 Combo - Tech 21 VT pedal - Stingray.
The symptoms were, the E string, from open E to B at the 7th were loud and punchy as always but then move up a fret to C at the 8th and it just died. Play a C in a different position and its fine so don't think its a frequency issue ? (still the same with a dry lead) just a little puzzled by it, any clues, suggestions, tips are more than welcome
Thanks in advance

Does sunblue do the same thing?

No, SunBlue is perfect across the board

Mayebe you should check your setup. Is the relief of your neck and string height ok?

The set up is bang on, relief, string height, intonation its all set nicely

.
Very first thing I'd do is put on a fresh set of strings.

That's also a very good idea, the strings that are on it have been on (quick diary check) May 4th, usual set of regular Slinkys, 105-50's.
They are still pretty fresh, just about played in as the bass has not had that much play as I have been using the other one.
I will do that, new strings then test it out next band practice and see how that works out

Being lazy, and having barely just enuf
initiative to share my laziness, I'm moved
to point out that you only need to swap
the E-string for diagnostic purpose. So if
that doesn't fix it, you haven't wasted any
extra effort stringing up the other strings.

You're welcome.

Not being lazy either, the thought of adding a single string to the problem had not crossed my mind....
I keep a few half used strings in my bag in case I break one mid gig but even then an odd string always sticks out like an amateurs sore finger tips so to speak, so its a bit passed me on how that could be helpful in the process of ironing out a dead spot  but thank you anyways ;)

or trade it in on a blue bongo

ooooooooh don't tempt me..... trades are good but I'm not that keen on the handing over part of the trade so best just keep saving (again :p )
