Flats on a Sterling?

I do that on my basses with DR's.......I for one have never found any usable slap tones on flats that could compare with rounds. I am sure there may be others that have though.

So can you slap with flats? or should ya stick with rounds or other?
what are the best strings to slap anywayz ?

I've been using Fender 9050Ms on my Sterling since I bought it new several years ago. Love that thud! They're high tension, which I like - but they're not for everyone, I admit.
