Just received a (Blemished) 4 String H Stingray from Music123. I have meticulously examined and played it and I find no imperfections! Hey! I'm happy! They knocked $180.00 off of the regular price for a Blem and also had a $75.00 coupon on their site. Plus, I ordered through Mr.Rebates and saved another $50.00! It's Honey Sunburst with a Rosewood neck.
I have owned an Ibanez Musician for many years but this Stingray has better resonance and sustain. In 1982 I owned a MM Sabre. Wished I still had it!

The box had a Musician's Friend label with a 9/23/08 date on it.
Forgive my naivite but --- Big Poppa, are you THE Sterling Ball?

Yeah, pretty cool, isn't it?

Or it's the best marketing scam there is;-)

ettoufela, I think that any item returned to music123 will be resold as blem, simply because it's not new in the box. Great score I say!

I am going to be in SLO this summer visiting my wife's family. What are the odds of being able to tour the factory? Its on my bucket list.

Sorry for bringing back an old post but... What does happen to an instrument that does not pass QC?? Just curious. Anyone have a picture? JOSH

it pretty much gets destroyed

unfortunately EBMM does not offer factory tours. the only time (that I know of) that there are tours is when EBMM organizes a forum get-together and invites us over. that's happened twice so far: once to SLO (instruments) and once to the Cochella factory (strings).

stay tuned... there may be another forum event some day. if there is we'll hear about it on the forum
