I have a new Axis /Floyd Rose. It had 3 springs from the factory and still has the factory strings. I removed a spring and kept 2 springs in a V shape and when I tuned back up the bridge floated. The floyd can pitch back and forth and stays in tune. It's no where near to touching the body. I checked the FAQ and couldnt find any information. My question, is it ok to float floyd on the Axis?

I also lowered the action by turning the truss clock wise and it's a very nice ! I guess my only other option to bring the Floyd bridge flush with the body is to add heavier strings or put another spring in the back. I don't want to mess with the trem claw bolts.

Its fine to leave it floating if you like it. Don't be afraid to tighten the trem claw screws. Just tighten them until the bridge is flush and keep them even.

There should be no issue whatsoever, since I have my vintage trem floating as well. I love being able to have the natural vibrato for chords. The trem claw is no problem man, just adjust it how you like little by little. Putting heavier gauge strings on it as you have it now will actually pull the bridge even more off the body...to compensate for that you would have to tighten the trem claw. If you like the feel of it how it is now, just leave it alone and rock out.
