Question Floating trem on an MM Axis?

Has anyone attempted to make their floyd float and/or is it possible?
Wouldn't the action have to be set very high?

I saw a clip on youtube of this axis with a floating trem, though you cant really see if the owner has routed a gap under the bridge, sure doesn't look like it from what you can see.

Isn't that a D-Tuna type of thing? The bridge cannot be floating for that, right?

I have mine set to float and the action is pretty low, it's more a matter of loosing the springs a little than setting the action.

Cons: As said, the D-tuna becomes unusable, keeps lowering E string to D, but the remaining strings get out of tune, not so much, but more than "musically acceptable"

I used to have an Amber Axis that I had routered under the tail-end of bridge. This allowed it to, "float".
This allowed the Vai antics to come out
