Why is this in the guitar section and not the strings section? Read on: :p

I'm using a set of brand new EB Titanium strings now. The low E is rubber-like. It's so dull sounding, that it sounds like someone poured water over my amp. The rest of the strings are fine. So, does that mean it's an isolated problem?

When i use the Stainless Steel RPS strings, the same thing occurs, though somewhat to a much much lesser degree. the low E still sounds like it's 6 month's old, but a lot more crisp compared to the Titaniums.

This is only evident on the same guitar, which is my white Silo Spec. My other guitars are fine, nice and crisp.

So. Does this mean there's something wrong with my saddle? The tone is equally flubby on any fret, and on an open string.

On that note, if I were to replace my saddles (some might know of the Raw Vintage Saddles), would the size be 11.2mm? Would the intonation screws fit?

Doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to figure out that if your other guitars are fine with these strings, but this guitar has a problem with 2 different sets, then there's something amiss with the guitar.
Since it's any fret & the open string then it's not the nut.
That's me done.....CS or a guitar tech now I guess.

Other thing you can do is make sure that the saddle is level. By that I mean, make sure both screws are touching the base plate (give them a small turn until they make solid contact). If the saddle isn't sitting properly you may get a weak sounding string.

does the saddle have a groove in it? the groove maybe pinching the string causing the string to vibrate.
also make sure any single coil pickups are not set to close to the wound strings as the magnets in the pickups can affect how the string vibrates.

Sleep? What's that? Hahaha...

Yes, the original saddles have grooves. Will check to make sure the saddle is level. I dont think it is, since my palm doesn't complain. Hahaha...

My pickups are dimarzio cruisers and protrack. They have very low pull, and aren't near the strings at all.

But would even the kts saddles fit without widening the holes?
