So we all know about the volume pedals, which give you a pan from nothing to.. whatever you set the maximum volume to be.

What I'd probably prefer would be some sort of pedal with 5 buttons, each set to a different "master volume"

at the moment with my marshall head, theres a master button, which switches it from "master 1" to "master 2" which you can set to whatever you want, but I do wish there were more masters.. heh

Does anyone know of any such product, or have any further tips on how to obtain more volume control at my feet?

the volume pedal works, but there's too much overshooting and undershooting involved when the desired volume is anywhere less than full, its a bit too fiddly for my liking

I have my effect board before my volume pedal so i don't lose distortion so i end up turning the amps volume to "7" when i have it at 5-6 so if i need more volume i just use the ernie ball volume pedal to raise raise the volume, i don't know if you would want a switch with a sudden jump in volume. volume pedal does the job for me.

what about adding a boost? that way you could set it to boost 10 db (or what you choose) on master 1 and then master 2

Another option (rather than a boost) to take a bunch of 25k pots and make them footswitchable (like your volume pedal) and put the whole thing in the loop (assuming a low impedance series loop).

You could wire them up in increments, so each successive one is a little less volume, etc. or make the whole thing relay switchable to discretely switch between pots. In this way you could dial in the amount of cut you wanted and switch it on. (With everything off, you'd be at full volume.)

You could also look into the BBE Boosta Grande. 25 dB of boost.

The MXR Micro Amp.

I've even used a distortion pedal with only the output turned up. Functions as a really good volume boost without coloring tone.

If you want sweeping volume control, and the ability to switch your amp from Master 1 to 2, you can try the EB Volume Pedal/Switch. The lever on the side allows you to perform your amp switching without moving the swell of the pedal.

Hmm I would lean more towards the idea of getting a MXR Custom Audio Electronics MC-401 Boost pedal, or a MXR Micro Amp if you do not want to spend too much.

Hope that helped :)
