hey guys, im just wondering ... what are the pros and cons of each neck? is one more comfortable for the advance styles of picking than the other? Like is alternate picking more easily executed with the morse or the petrucci? i know, it's spitting hairs. Both of the Artist aforementioned are very good pickers and im sure each wouldn't get the specs of thier necks that they helped design if they didnt feel it was well suited for thier playing, BUT i want an honest opinion from those who have been playing EBMM's for a while now. Im new to the guitars although i have tried a few out. hahah all thse things to talk about just to keep my mind off the waiting process involved in paying off and waiting for my petrucci. thanks for being patient with me hahah

God bless,

Hello -

First off, I have both of these guitars. Just aquired my Petrucci last week. I guess I expected the same neck, and was pleasantly suprised to find that they are quite different. Having said that I would say to me they both are excellent feeling necks. I have small hands and both are quite comfortable. I would say the neck on the Petrucci is much thinner and feels slightly wider.

The Morse conversely feels thicker and a bit narrower. Both are quite pleasing and I am sure you will be happy with either. Both are what I would categorize as fast playing necks.

Body wise the Petrucci is definatley more comfortable to play.
Tonal versitility goes to my Morse, hands down. (My Petrucci does not have peizo)

Hope this helps

hey thanks man... i appreciate the response. i am gettinga petrucci...and recently have been checking the morse model out online and such. I just started wondering what the necks were like... i didnt know that each signature guitar had different necks. I thought all EBMM necks were the same until i started reading around on the forum.

God bless,

Tony
