Well just because there isn't an official forum bash doesn't mean there aren't some fantastic EB events going on. There is both a west coast Bass Fest and an east coast Guitar/Bass Clinic happening on October 24th, and you will be sure to find knuckleheads gathering at both!

There are/were lots of events this year, like when Poppa and the artists did the 25th Anny tour w/ Sessions @ GC.

If you pay for the flights and fedex shipping you can have it at my house, but October - May is pretty cold in the Highlands,

I'll throw in salmon fishing but that's it....;)

Sorry there's no open house this year (not that I'd be able to go) - but everybody is strapped and BP mentioned something close to what he paid for last year, show me a company that can do that in this climate and I'll show you a company that's wasting money......

Just greatfull EBMM is still standing, I can see a few guitar and amp companies going to the dogs before April 2010.....

If you're going to have the bash in Dallas....gotta get Jack (Bovinehost) over to make some drinks. I hear he makes a vicious martini.

The thing about these forum parties is that they're hugely expensive, I imagine. BP and EBMM have been so ridiculously generous. Knowing how the economy is, well...I can see why no such party is in the works at the moment.

As an example, here's the way it went down in the desert in 2007 at the Coachella Desert Domination bash. EBMM paid for one night of our stay as an inducement to get people to come. Each and every room...one night was paid for. I'm sure EBMM flew out all the artists who came by plane. I imagine the artists stayed for free too. All food and drink at EBMM sponsored events was paid for. That included a Friday night party where Steve Morse and Dave LaRue did a clinic. Knuckleheads jammed. Luke played too. We had Mexican food that night.

Saturday, we had our choice of a desert eco tour by jeep or a golf outing. We didn't pay jack for that IIRC. Saturday night, we had a BBQ at the string factory with Biff Baby's All Stars playing after a bass forum. We also had a great tour of the facility. Again, we didn't pay jack for any of that.

There was transportation to and from the hotel to all events. We got a heck of a lot of swag. String packages with our forum names on the back. Straps. T-Shirts. Wonder wipes. Hats. Award plaques. It was a huge amount of money they spent on us.

BP throws a great party. I can't begin to imagine how much money something like this costs EBMM. If we never have another forum bash, well...I'll be forever grateful that I made it to two out of three and experienced BP's and EBMM's kindness and hospitality. Thanks, BP and EBMM.

Rob,
Couldn't agree more. I was lucky enough to attend all 3 and I will always be grateful.

The hospitality shown by BP and the whole EBMM organization was actually a bit embarassing at least for me. So I've bought a half dozen guitars, that doesn't entitle me to jack, but you'd never know it by the way we were treated. I felt like a part of the family for those weekends. Above and beyond on all accounts.

This economy sucks and I've stopped my buying just so we can pay off *everything* we owe and be debt free in 2 years. But I can tell you that once that happens, look out, I'll have cash in hand and I've seen a lot of things that I want.

Thanks again BP!!

I couldn't have said it better. I was so blown away by the generosity of BP and crew at those weekends, I felt like family.

Really any time you come in contact with someone up in SLO its something special. I remember my first trip to the EBMM factory years ago ('97ish) to pick up a guitar for a customer (my buddy owned a music store in Santa Barbara) Nelson, don't know if he is still there or not, gave me a tour of the place... Holy Crap was that cool! And the next few times I was up there the people were just as cool and ready to make it something special... and I was a just some 20 year old punk at the time! (for the record Im a 33 year old punk now :D ) My point is... Thanks BP for anything you do for your loyal customers and even if there is no bash this year or next you have already done too much... we appreciate it.

oh yeah... Fing... please just post a new thread with your Addy, the time and date of the party and what you will be serving (my girlfriend has food allergies) Lastly, I don't want to have to search to that hard for the invite since we are already gonna be out for the gas and the hotel and other expenses! :p

Let's just get this ball rolling.

Exceeding the maximum occupancy safety limit of a resident home or not, we're all gonna smash in there!

Party at Fing's house!

(If this for some bizarre and yet interesting chance this actually does come to fruition, Keith, I apologize in advance :D )
