Hey Now,

Just wanted to ask those of you that own both chambered and standard models if there is a significant weight difference?

Thanks

On the JP end of things, I don't notice a significant weight difference. The guitars are all pretty light as it is, the JPX is lighter but not hollowbody light.

There definitely is a weight difference...it depends on which model you are comparing it to. But the 25th is definitely super light (not like a toy though), compared to most of the regular models. The JPX is also lighter but still has decent weight to it since it has the larger body and less chambering than the 25th. Check out the weight differences on the music man site :). I'm gonna do that now hehe.

I notice my JPX is surprisingly light!

From EBMM website:
JP6 7bs 4oz
JP6 BFR 8lbs 7oz
JPX 7lb 4oz

Speaking of "chambered" guitars. I had a chance to play another guys guitar at a jam night (a well known brand), and I thought it was definetly chambered (he said no).

It was "feather" light!! In fact, I think the strap weighed more than the guitar (I'm not kidding). It was unbelievably light.

I personally like the weight of the Axis, not too heavy and not too light - just about perfect!!

+1

There is a bit of a difference, but not drastic.
