I'm a newbie here at this forum. I've lurked around for a week or so now, and I think it's a cool forum. I've just given away to temptation, taken the plunge, and ordered the EBMM John Petrucci 6 string in Pearl Redburst. The music store said it would take a few months for EB to make the guitar. I tried the guitar at a store a few months ago, and couldn't sleep properly until I ordered the guitar :) I think it plays really well. Love the middle pickup setting that sounds like a strat. I have a couple of questions regarding the guitar. What kind of warranty does the guitar come with? Has anyone here actually needed to use the warranty? How reliable is the guitar when it comes to string abuse (especially with the tremolo system? I know I'll find out about these eventually, but I can't stop thinking about the guitar!! I think I'm already addicted to it. Help!!!!

Welcome Newbie.

Don't forget to send in registration card. Eb sends out 3 packs of strings to you.

Mention the gauge.

Can't remember the term, think it's one year.

Welcome to the.........(please see comments by koogie)

With respect to the warranty, my AL came delivered with an electronics issue. EBMM took it right back, set it straight and sent sent it back, no questions asked, and with great turn-around time. Customer service was responsive and pleasant to deal with via e-mail. When I got it back it played like a dream. So if you have a concern about any warranty issue, my experience with them was great.

You can find the warranty info in the MusicMan section of the website where you can also register your guitar on-line.

BTW - Hey koogie - maybe with your government contacts you can get a quick copywrite and everytime someone greeets a newbie and uses it ...well it might end up paying for the new Radiance Red :D

Judging Koogie's comments on his gov contracting, those are not the kind of contacts he has.....

Welcome to the.... uh.... I wasn't going to say it honest!! heh!

Enjoy the guitar...more importantly enjoy the ANTICIPATION while you wait for the gutiar!! It's worth the wait, but the anticipation will kill you! :D

ADDICTION! ADDICTION! ADDICTION! WELCOME TO THE ADDICTION!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!......You guys are some funny dudes!!

Copyright eh?!?!!?.....hmmmm....maybe I'll look into that.. ;)

EBMM Customer Service.....I have not personally needed to use them. But, I have been here a while and have seen the awesome responses given for their services. I have defended them (in particular jongitarz on this very forum before and will do again if necessary... :D ) because EBMM do what no other guitar company (aside from some very small custom guitar luthiers) will do. That would be.....giving you the "rock star" treatment! They know you as a person...not a number and deal with your issues on a personal level. No other company like Gibby, **nder or BC Rich will do that. EBMM even has employees on this very forum who take time out of their personal day to read our forum and help out. You will see for yourself as time goes on. EBMM Rocks and continues to do so.

As for my contacts....well.....they will remain just that....my contacts...heheheeheh....and no, they do not work in the "copyright" office. ;)

Again, Welcome to the Addiction!

I'm not sure why Koogs doesn't just tell EB to have his new radiance red pet ready by Tuesday.

OR ELSE! :D

I realized that koogie's "contacts" may not technically "work" in the "copyright" office. Just thought that they could "get the job done" in an expedited fashion, if so "desired".

Please forget I mentioned anything, please, really, please...

Sincerely
Mich...I mean KEI (oops sorry Pierre)...I mean Stan

Thanks for the replies guys and the warm welcome. I haven't been able to get near a computer over the weekend (read my internet was down). The anticipation for the guitar is so damn killer. To compensate, I watched Steve Morse's DVD and Dream Theater's live DVD. At least I could see the axes being handled the way they were meant to be...oh and did I mention beer? :)

I think I should start checking out the other MM guitarists. I've heard Steve Lukather before and of course EVH, but have not really heard the likes of Albert Lee.

You can see Steve Lukather (aka "Luke") play his Black Sparkle Luke in Toto's "Live in Amsterdam" DVD, which was shot and released last year, if memory serves. A great concert!

As per my journey into EBMM guitars I noticed that there was this slight calling by these things.

I bought my first JP-6 in Mystic Dream.......then......this Pearl Redburst was saying "koogie....buy me...please....for the love of God.....don't let the little kiddies handle me....buy me....buy me..." so, I picked up that one.

Well, I kept hearing about this one color called Blue Dawn.....saw a pic of Norm's and (that little voice began)...."seek out a Blue Dawn young jedi and purchase..." Many months went by as I looked with a passion (kinda like a crack addict looking for his daily rock). I went high and low looking until one day.....on the John Petrucci Forum.....there was a guy selling the very one I was looking for. But it was a JP-7. Special note here: Because of my quest for the "Holy Grail" as I called it.....many bros here looked out for me and sent me a ton of PM's and e-mails about that very guitar. Again....to all of ya (you know who you are) THANKS!!

Well, I got it.........then......that voice......it.....called......."Koogie, you must have Radiance Red......with piezo......and matching headstock.......must get it now....." So, I ordered up another one in Radiance Red (thanks to my buddy Bassplayr).

So, as you can see, it is an addiction. But a GREAT ONE! Ask many peeps here.....they will tell you that it is an addiction. So, I started telling all the newbies "Welcome to the addiction!" Because it is virtually impossible to only buy one EBMM and not another! You will see.....you will want another, then another, then another and so on. That is an addiction.........if only I could stop those voices in my head?!?!?! ;)

*ressurected* Wow! That sure explains the addiction bit. I wonder how it will be when I get some more...NOOOOOOO You already have me thinking about getting more!!!

The voices always say "Love (or buy) just don't stare" don't they? :) This addiction I Love :)
