I just came across a black quilt top AXIS.
I have never seen another.. Was this a production color?

Yes, this was a production color early on. They probably dicontinued it because of the fading problems. The black would fade to a sort-of emerald looking green. I have an black-quilt EVH that you would swear was green, i also have an early prodution axis that has kept it's black color.

Dude you need to post a pic of all you eb's not just the pets.

I would, but do you know how time it takes to take all those guitars out of the closets, then out of the cases and then set them up for pics? Then of course, you gotta put them away! Plus, you gotta do all of tht nice and slow so you don't damage any of the axes.

Jeez ernie.....i will come over and baby sit your guitars, take them out for pictures and barbeque, moonlight walks along the beach, buy them ice cream, and tuck them back in their nice snug cases and sing them a good night lullaby, but alas, you will have to search me cause that blue dawn and burnt apple might be in my back pockets as I sneak out the back door...:D

There was absolutely nothing wrong with the black ones. EVERY Wolfgang I've seen faded in 6 months. THEY are the defective guitars, not EBMM.
