I've been noticing this for a while but have thought that it was a trick of the light or something. When I really noticed it though was on the new special edition DVD. It appears that JP has two pre-BFR guitars. One is the one on the Score DVD. The other looks just like it except it has his usual pickups and appears to have binding on the fretboard which I totally love! Am I just seeing things or has someone else noticed this as well  Can anyone shed some light on this?

you are absolutely correct, the one with binding was a prototype

Yeah, binding like that looks real classy. I hope they'll do it someday maybe as a limited run even if it's a bitch work with binding.;) I'd pay the extra it would cost.

IIRC, BP said something regarding how much of a pain and expense it was. I'll see if I can find the post.

In my opinion I think a binding is a waste of time on the neck. It looks nice but I like to feel the wood of ball.

I've always loved neck binding. I think that it's classy and I would pay the extra $ for it.

The binding was expensive because it is not conventional neck binding; there is still a small wood edge on the neck, so the binding is basically a stripe a few mm from the edge.

When I got my first EBMM I thought the neck looked unfinished without binding. But as the sands of time have passed, I love the look of having no binding!

Yeah, I could do away with the bindings, a refret on a binded fretboard cost much much more...
I think it looks kinda weird with just binding on the fretboard as opposed to the whole guitar...
But that's just me :D
