I hear ya about the drilling thing. That's really personal preference, but the holes are so small if I were that worried about a lockout device it would be irrelevant to me really (it's not nearly as invasive as a Trem Setter which does the same thing as both devices but retains float the entire time; even when doing double-stops or drop tuning).
You can not 'hardtail' a trem-equipped guitar with a TremSetter alone. Well, maybe if you weld the rod....
You can crank the springs on the TremSetter, but it's not going to give you a true hardtail (where the bridge is not able to move at all).

I've installed Trem Setters on guitars way more expensive than any mentioned in this thread (a pre-CBS Strat among them, granted it was in 1990, well before they were worth what they are now, but the owner wouldn't have cared. ;)
Pics baby! PICS!!!

Jeffrey- you might want to look into an ESP Arming Adjuster.

I echo that sentiment. Small holes in the trem cavity don't really concern me much provided it worked as promised. I like the idea of a small profile device too.

Heck, I look forward to trying both the Freelok and the Tremel-No and seeing which works better.

I feel I need to jump in here now, and let you all know, that I am watching this thread. I am not comfortable with anyone pimping their products on the MM forum, but I have not said anything until now.

It seems there is some bad blood out there, and I am not going to let it get out of hand here.

Keep in mind that this is a privately owned forum for the discussion of EB/MM instruments.

Jon-always the diplomat!:D

I'm back from the O.R. and I'm up and walking around. I won't be wah-wah-ing with my right foot anytime soon.
(I think I need a tremol-no for my knee:( )

I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of our friend to my door-should be any day now! I'll drop you a line when it touches down..

Hey Guys, Thanks for making me feel welcome. Jeffery, thank you for Starting this thread.
In the interest of this EB forum, please let me point out that there is another product out, known as the TREMCONVERTER. I have never used one and I will not comment on these other products. Just want to let you know your options. . . .so far. . . . at this time. Marcel Dam is the guy to talk to about the TREMCONVERTER. Me and Marcel communicate often, we have a great rapport. We respect each other. Anyway, check that one out too.

Brsmith21, Thanks for the welcome. The funny thing about answering questions about my product on a chat room is that it instantly turns into spam. I would be happy to answer questions in regards to the FREELOK(R). To respect this forum, please do not ask me to compare or comment on the other products. Ask the other people about their products, then decide for yourself.

Jongitarz, Yes, I agree. I did ask beej if it was cool to field questions about the FREELOK. If you would rather have them PM me that's cool. please let me know.

Your forum is to serve the EB players, not a conduit for marketing tactics.

Orangechannel, No problem man. I was reffering to my customers trying to post.
It really isn't of much concern, but it has been comical and rewarding. I agree competition is a great thing. If I had a 56 Stat I doubt I would drill into it or remove any original hardware. I doubt I would nail bottle caps to a Les Paul either, but Zak Wilde did, so you never know.....

Cheers!

Tremconvertor looks a lot like the Tremsetter to me. It appears Stewmac is carrying it.
