I own a Lefty Axis Super Sport with a Maple neck and I have had the neck adjuted at least 5 times in the 8 months I have owned the guitar. The first time the neck was so backbowed I didn't think it become playable. A couple turns of the adjusting screw and everything was fine. a moth or tow later, the neck had too much bow in it and had to be adjeted. Are these necks just adjustment prone or do I have a problem with mine? This is costing me a small fortune. Thanks.

Hey man, the best thing you can do with an Axis is learn to adjust the neck yourself. Looks like you already discovered the earlier post on neck adjustment.

To answer your question, yes the Axis is more prone to weather and humidity changes because of the unfinished maple neck.

Good things to try to do to minimize the problem is:

1) Keep your guitar in the case when not in use.
2) Keep your case away from exterior walls when storing in your house.
3) Don't leave your guitar in your car in excessive heat or cold.
4) Treat the neck once a month with Lemon Oil to keep it from getting dry.

The problem really is unavoidable though. I played an outdoor party in July. Needless to say, my Axis did not like being taken from a nice humidity controlled 70 degree enviroment, to a hot and humid July evening. Made it through the gig okay, but I took my guitar out of the case two days later, and it was almost unplayable.

That is when I learned to adjust my own neck, and it's probably one of the easiest guitars to adjust a neck on out there.
