Hi everyone. I am just curious as to what the size of the frets on an Axis are? I am thinking of having a neck built for another guitar and would like to get the same size of frets for it that the Axis neck has. Thanks for any info.

Man I e-miled EB to find out what size they were and they said they could not tell me since it is a Ernie Ball secret. They would not even say what standard fret wire size would be close. Now I love EB but that is pretty weak!

You know, if you went to a good local luthier, I bet he could help you figure it out... You could just compare examples of fret wire he has on hand until you find something close... Or take your guitar to a guitar store and say "I want something with a neck/frets similar to this" and see what they come up with. I'm not surprised EB/MM aren't saying; they're infamously tight-lipped about everything! 'Course, we'll forgive 'em 'cause they make such great guitars!! :D

Yeah, I'm going to have to hit some stores and compare this next week. I'm thinking they might be close to dunlop 6150 as the Axis frets are a little wider than the frets on a Wolfie and quite a bit lower and those have 6105's on em. It still would have been nice if EB could say what standard fret size they were close to though. :)
