Just wondering whats your opinion on fret sizes on for eg: Silhouette, and JP6. Whats your preference? Silos have mediums, and i think JP6 has wide Jumbo.. would be interesting to know your preference and why? cheers in advance.

Larger frets (i.e ?jumbo?) - I feel like I can get right 'into' the note.....seems more expressive. I play a lot of lead (like most of us here)...so perhaps the ornimental stuff (i.e hammer-ons, pull-offs and such) tend to jump out better for my technique

Largest possible. The more legato you do, the more they help. Also really helpful for wide and expressive vibrato. Narrow are good for intonation, but tall and far are where it is at... for me.

JJumbo wide stainless for the durability. EBMM Nickel frets sound the best for precision and for recording, and they feel better to boot, but stainless is what I need live and abuse.

I like the fret size on the Y2D a lot, and also the 12" radius. I do also like stainless steel frets though, and wider ones are nice.

Jumbo! I play a lot of guitars with tall narrow, but for my speed the notes don't ring clearly. The jumbos tend to ring clearer for my faster playing.

Dunlop 6100 are on some of my guitars. I like them as tall and wide as possible, I even had big jumbo Dunlops on my scalloped guitar.

My Choice is HUGE frets (Dunlop size 6000 preferably) and they must be stainless steel! I top that off with scalloped fretboards...

How much does the tone change when you install stainless steel frets?

The tone acoustically changes and noticeably so. Especially on the attack, with SS producing a slightly sharper snap on attack. However plugged in I don't think 99.999% of people could pass a blind A/B test between Nickel and SS. Frets are more about feel IMO. nickel is a softer metal and feels buttery smooth. I like it quite a bit. SS definitely isn't bad, but the major leg that SS has up on nickel is durability. Which can be a deal breaker for some.
