Fret size

I was sitting at home alternating playing my Axis and Peavey Wolfgang and noticed that the frets, amongst other things, are different. The difference is noticable in that the Axis is more "slippery" when holding and playing notes whereas the Peavey allows me to hold the notes better. The frets do look different in size both width and height so i'm wondering whether anyone else out there can enlighten me on their specific details?

One thought i had to compensate for the "slipperyness" that i have is to change from 9-42 to 10-46 on the Axis, this will give me "more to hold on to".

Any comments?

I've played both, and to my playing style, the Axis works better. Those are two completely different guitars. Body shapes, even neck carves and radius aren't the same. The P****y neck is actually flatter than the Axis, and maybe that accounts for the "less slippery" feel that you're getting.

I don't know the stats on fret sizes between the two. I thought they were the same, but the frets on the wolf might be slighty taller to compensate for the fretboard radius.

Yeah, I own both (and several of each!) Really two completely different guitars in ALL respects and every detail in a side by side comparision!!

My MM Axis is my main giggin' guitar in all the bands I'm workin', except for one!!
