I finally ordered a Steath Bongo 5 fretless HH w/peizo after making the color change from saphire black. Now for the wait. I'll post pics sometime at the end of May or June. I'll be at the Rights of Spring Prog fest in Philly PA May 1st. playing with a band "Man On Fire". Heavy fretless work, but no Bongo for this gig.

Keep in mind that you'll have to be careful where you lay down that bass or you might not be able to find it again. :D

especially if you lay it near Lord Bongo.. ;)

Sweet! Are you going with lined, or unlined?

Maybe we'll actually find a way to hook up before it shows up. :D

Congrats!

Now all you need is a set of Black Diamond Bass 500 strings and the light really will fall into it and never come out again :)

Is there an ebony board on that?

That would complete the "none more black" theme! I have a similarly themed fretless (albeit a different maker). Stealth rules!

I also thought an ebony fretboard would have been a great addition. But it's still just rosewood. That will be a sweet lookin' Bongo. Make sure to post pics. We'll be waiting...

Perhaps you could apply a black stain to the fretboard or something? Ebony is rarely all black anyway, from what I've heard.

It's pretty black .. take a look at my '80 SR F/L in the database topic - last page ... The ebony has a very fine dark chocolate grain in it but it's almost invisible until you really look hard. Certainly doesn't show in a photo.

I heard that most companies stain their ebony because their customers expect it black, or something like that.
