Frett Buzz getting progressively worse :S

Hi guys,

recieved my new JPX last week, and at first was so happy with it!

but, just over the last few days it seems to have 'developped' a really bad frett buzz especially on the first fretts (of pretty much all strings now, it has been a gradual thing)

What should i do? I bought it from a seller off ebay and gave him the thumbs up as when it was recieved it was perfect.. and i really dont trust my local tech with such a special guitar. Might it be a relativaly easy fix which i could undertake myself?

Any help would be massively appreciated.

My brother had this same problem with his, but it was only on one of the strings. I came to the conclusion it was the climate change that caused the neck to move. A quick and small tweak of the truss rod appeared to fix it. Small tweak to bring it to a forward bow should do it. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, but these necks seem to be super thin... maybe this causes them to move or maybe the action is set so low any movement causes a buzz.

Don't fret (pun intended).

This is perfectly natural and normal for a wood instrument when it changes location. If I were you, I'd wait until the it stops getting progressively worse (meaning it is now fully acclimatized) and then make some minor adjustments at the truss rod to compensate for the different humidity in your location (compared to where the guitar was). If it's your only guitar and/or you have an impatient nature you can tweek it gradually while it acclimatizes, but you are going to have to keep fiddling with it until it settles. When it happens to me (I buy a lot of guitars from away) I just play another one until it settles, then make the adjustment. By the way, this happens to all wood guitars, and EBMMs are by far the easiest to adjust due to their brilliant truss rod configuration. It's one of my favorite things about them. I can adjust the action between tunes if need be!

Truss rod adjustment ... nothing more, nothing less !
With the Music Man truss rod it is really easy to do.
From which part of Earth are you from ?

Very stupid question. I have a JPX and the neck tension changed when I took all strings off and restrung.E-A-D strings dont even ring out open and theres fret buzz everywhere. I'm in concert pitch. I think I need to turn the wheel anti-clockwise. How do I actually move the wheel Cheers Joe

It is really stiff and I cant physically turn it (don't want to do it too hard in case I slip and scratch i t)

If you need force, perhaps you should watch this video before adjusting your truss rod :
