hey all, I was thinking about the frets on my Luke and
about having them replaced with slightly taller wire.. I
love the guitar and it is my main gigging instrument but
I have always felt that it needed taller frets.. not jumbos
like dunlop 6100 but I was thinking 6150.. any thoughts?

check this wire out. stew-mac #0155 fretwire. it's really awesome . it's nice & tall for easy bending......but it's also nice & thin like the original wire. it recrowns real real nicely.......& makes for better intonation as it wears than wide wiie.i put this stuff on everything !!!!!!! it's the thinnest tall stuff that there is. great tradtional look.........w/ player action.
i love tall wire......but wide wire feels (& looks) goofy to me

I dont mind wider frets but I don't like super tall frets..
I use 10-46 strings and its just when I'm bending notes
that I feel slightly taller fret would feel better.. I like a
medium action. just under 2mm at the 12 fret, maybe if
I used 9 guage strings and a lower action they would be
ok but it just feels a little stiff to me( the guitar..;) )
