Okay, so now that I have my fretted Bongo 4...which has proven itself more-than-capable of handling a live gig situation...I'm looking for a fretless 4 to pair it up with.

NOTE: It doesn't have to be a Bongo bass, just a fretless 4.

Not looking to add cash, nor am I looking for cash from you...let's try to keep the trade somewhat even in quality.

We each pay our own shipping costs; Continental U.S. street addresses only (no APO's or PO boxes).

P.M. me with offers/pics.

Thanks!

Good luck trying to find one to trade for. Not too many fretless Bongo's out there, let alone people trying to get rid of them. Also, if you manage to sell your sabre outright there is a used egypitian smoke fretless bongo at bassnw.

Say it ain't so!! Say it ain't so!! Not the 79 Sabre!!!

Shamus63, please, please whatever happens from this point out, it's not your fault. Therapy combined with light sedatives work wonders.

This way you will avoid the inevitable of being jolted from a deep sleep in the middle of the night, and crying out fruitlessly "my 79 Sabre"!!!

I'm just trying to save you the pain and anguish. Similar to "shell schock".

Sir, I've never played that bass, but I think I can honestly say this:

"Dude! You should keep that one!"

Yow.

Actually, I'm not particularly looking for a FL Bongo, just a fretless 4-string bass.

Good God! If I thought this way about everything that's come in and out of my life...I'd still be married to my first wife and driving my old Ford Country Sedan!+=

Trust me guys (and gals), it would have to be a really attractive trade offer to let this one go...and no, it's not up for sale (that's too damn easy!).

I just want to round out my sound a bit, and to be honest, I love playing fretless on occasion.

Thanks to an offer that a Forumite has made (which may or may not pan out), I've decided it would be an even better idea to offer the Modulus fretted graphite neck itself in trade for a compatible fretless neck to install on the Sabre.

The '79 Sabre originally had a 3-bolt neck, but the previous owner installed the Modulus 4-bolt, so there's a bit of room to work with here.

NOTE: I can't use the truss wheel version on the Sabre.

Again, continental U.S. street addresses for shipping only; no P.O. boxes or military sites.

Hey, you interested in this for your Sabre? I found a guy selling some MM parts on ebay awhile back and couldn't let them pass.

No obligation or anything, just thought you might like an original bridge and I happen to have a spare...

Shamus63,

How much are you looking to get for the Modulus neck if you were to sell it?

Thanks,
Chris
Trades only, but thanks anyway.

If I can't find a suitable neck in trade, I may still entertain the offer of a full-on bass swap for the right fretless bass (lower 48 States, only).

Okay...so this morning I'm checking responses from my local ad for the Sabre, and I get the following e-mail (verbatim):

"Are you sure that's not a Cutlass bass, and that the Modulus neck is not original equipment?"

HELP!

After the initial shock, my wife and I got a chuckle out of it.:D

BTW, for those who might be interested, I'm selling the Sabre outright with a gig bag (lower 48 US only).

P.M. me for details.

Thanks,
James
