My Reflex guitar is amazing. Recently acquired it in a trade and it plays and sounds better than many other guitars I own. However, I have no use for the now unsupported Game Changer features. I also very much dislike the need to keep batteries in it, which seem to die pretty quickly.

Does anyone have experience rewiring a Game Changer guitar to a simple 3 way passive configuration?

Interesting first post! Welcome.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone ask that question. Nor have I been inside one- without pictures it's hard to say. In theory you could probably rip out the wiring and wire it up with traditional switches, etc., but I don't know how much work is involved.

Also, given the value- you might be better off seeing if you can trade the GC guitar for a standard Reflex or 25th Anniversary (same guitar). Might be a lot simpler.

Thanks. I'm in Canada so GC is out for me.

The thing is it is amazing guitar. But I've already had a gig situation where the batteries died on me, and just yesterday I took it out of the case and it was dead after sitting for a few weeks. Reliability is extremely important for me, and I just don't trust it. I also have enough pre-gig prep that remembering to bring/change batteries is enough to make me just leave it at home.

I wonder too if in 30 years if the silicon will be forever dead, "bricking" an otherwise perfectly fine hunk of wood and steel.

Welcome, I agree with Beej, Great first post!!!!

Couldn't you just convert it to a Silo HSH configuration?
