Nicely done. Tone is big , bold and above all else in your face. That is an awesome tool.

Ps. I love the ending.... reminds me of the end of a party.

Nice one! What combo was that? + What effect did you use?

+ I do trust you have sorted a decent commission deal with BP for all the gamechanger sales that you are clearly going to generate??!!

I really don't want to say this because it makes me seem stuck in the 60s but the main riff is also a damned fine approximation of a Fender Jazz tone.

I like the fact it almost has an 80s Cure type sound to it. Like a massive nod towards a Ric/7ender but with the muscle and sheer coolness of the GC...cos lets face it, I bet the GC is much nicer to play.

glad you guys are diggin the gamechanger tones, because it is very much going to be the spirit of the project im working on for myself. it gives me hope that maybe others might find some inspiration or value in the music i feel hard pressed to create, and share (fighting the little voice in my head that says i suck, every step of the way. yes, we all have that. in jacksons case, voices, plural.).

every time i sit down w the gamechanger, i end up writing a song.... which is way effin cool, and different . ive never written on the bass before, but the g.c. has naturally become the inspiration and channel by which im receiving this new group of songs, riffs, ideas.

its not something i set out to do, or even thought of before it just happened.... at all. im simply paying attention to how i naturally react to, and am inspired by textures, sounds, and colors i have never ever heard before in my life, and the fruit that effortlessly, and consistently keeps coming from that place.. (until bp steals it.... again)

id be a fool to not avail myself of that, or god forbid try to shut that channel down for any reason. those channels are not easy to come by, believe me. besides, now that i think about it, one of my fav pop tunes of all time was written on the bass. "lights" / journey. steve perry once told me he was plunking around on a bass one day, and the tune just effortlessly wrote itself on the spot.

its so simple, but really powerful. you guys should try it at home. its awesome, no chord tones to dictate (or interfere with ) the melody. just root and rhythm. it might be major, minor, diminished, demolished, you name it. let the roots and spirit of the groove youre in inspire the melody / message, and fill the chords in later. i cant tell you what a breakthrough this is for me. and with the gamechanger, its even deeper, because there are a lot of tones that become hooks that sit higher up in the track and blend insanely well with a deep bass tone below it.

this is big fun, and no doubt why we all keep coming back here for more. this is clearly more than just your average bass company / gear forum (for me anyway). these people are fvck!n passionate about what they do, work their arses off, and make deeply inspiring musical instruments that are capable of inspiring us to new levels of expression.

they inspire us to embarrassing levels of rockgod greatness we already know are totally out of our personal grasp. funny thing is, be it lawyer, journalist, or studio wh0re, when we get an instrument that speaks to us in our hands, and we think no ones looking, we still reach for it. the dream is still alive!!! and for me, thats the value of what these fine people do. i need that inspiration as much as any one. thx again bp, dudley, drew, ryan, derek, and all the others i have yet to meet. keep going.

Great sample Craig! I love the changes. I agree with The Cure sentiment and I love them dearly. Inspiring indeed! I completely get what you are saying about writing on bass. Here is something I wrote on bass myself...nothing as developed as your clip, just a quick progression on my '83 2-band Stingray. I dig soloing over it as it's basically all in D major. Now if I only had a GameChanger...
