A week after ordering my HH/P Bongo 5 out of the Basscentral pipeline, my oldest and best friend (and bandmate) just called and informed me that he plunked down the cash for a minty-fresh Taylor 354-CE 12 string...a darned fine guitar that he knew he'd buy someday, eventually, sooner or later, etc. etc.

GAS pains are catching, it seems. I've had the Carvin that the Bongo is replacing for 7 or 8 years. He's had his Washburn 12 for over a decade.

I really, REALLY wish I could have the Bongo available for the gig we've got this weekend, but unfortunately one cannot rush such things. :(

I hear you. We normally practice on Mondays, but are taking this week off...really wish I could unleash the new amp...oh well.

That Bongo sure sounds sweet...I was noodling on one at Bass Central on Friday and started thinking "ya know, these are kinda sweet...."

Maybe someday. "

Think I'll head up to GC today, and try out a few EB's (Sterlings and Bongos) through an Ampeg set-up...all this talk of new gear is giving me GAS!

Ahhh...sounds like fun.

I am now under a "No-GAS" Order from She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed.

That's okay. I can suffer long for awhile :p

Mine doesn't believe that I can now restrict myself to one new bass purchase a year...of course, I've owned well over 300 in the 26 years I've been playing bass!

Guess I'm just tired of wasting money...off to GC!

Oh, man, if you're saying things like that it's already too late.

Hey, you're a doctor. Grab a stethoscope. Place the business end on your abdomen. Hear that rumbling? Your textbooks will tell you that what you hear is peristalsis, the normal movement of 'stuff' through your intestines (or so my wife, an RN, tells me), but I know better.

That's GAS, baby!

There's a tiny Dr. Nick with horns and a pitchfork sitting on your right shoulder, saying "Hey, y'know, that Bongo really did sound great, didn't it? Soooo much better than what you're playing now. I know people make fun of its looks, but what do they know? And it's not all that expensive...you can afford it...just think of how awesome you'll sound....."

There's a matching tiny Dr. Nick with a halo and white robes sitting on your left shoulder, saying "Y'know, he's got a point there....."

You're doomed. Face it.
